How to Get Your Free Credit Report

Tuesday September 9, 2008

Did you know that you're entitled to receive a copy of your credit report from each of the three major credit reporting bureaus each year? That's right, and there is a good reason to stay on top of your credit report. Identity theft is a very real problem that affects many people every year. Some problems are just minor inconveniences, but identity theft could literally ruin your life if gone unchecked.

Unfortunately, just as there are plenty of identity thieves who want to get their hands on your personal information, there are a number of companies and websites that would love to lure you into their so-called free credit scores and reports. Some of these are completely legitimate, but if you aren't careful and don't read the fine print, you may find that you've automatically been enrolled in some credit monitoring program that charges a monthly fee. Then you have to go through the hassle of trying to cancel the service. So, avoid the hassle, and learn how to get your true free credit reports.

Thats true,Under federal law you are entitled to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months. You can visit “AnnualCreditReport.com” to order your free credit report.
There are other websites also but most of the providers require sign up for the services like Identity Theft protection, Credit monitor etc.
You can also visit “http://www.GetUrScore.com”, this website provides the links to various providers of Free Credit Reports and Credit Scores and also gives the comparisons on the offers from different providers.
