If you carry credit card debt you're obviously aware of the minimum payment, but did you know that if you only make the minimum payment it will likely take over a decade to pay off that debt? On top of that, you'll end up spending almost as much in interest over that time as the original balance itself. Card companies know this, and that's why the minimum payment is so affordable. But just increasing your payment a little bit can make all the difference in the world. Here's how to break the minimum payment habit.
