Guide Review - Turbo Tax Software
During the entire process, tax advice and explanations of tax regulations, written in layman's terms, are a click away. Very well organized. Very slick.
I completed my complex tax return in record time with Turbo Tax 2005. Simpler returns can literally be completed in just a few minutes. I was disgruntled to get to the end and see the rather steep charges for e-filing, but this is still my prefered tax software.
A glitch I reported to the makers of Turbo Tax last year has been corrected in this year's return. The problem occurred when entering mortgage interest on a second (vacation) home. Turbo Tax automatically allocated the interest to the primary residence, and because the primary residence included deductible home office expenses, the home office deduction was overstated. I corrected it by overriding Turbo Tax and manually entering the number in the proper place on the proper form. The 2005 version of Turbo Tax handled this situation accurately and smoothly, without any intervention from me.
