Looking for your missing tax rebate check? Wondering when you can expect your refund? Haven't received last year's refund? Have a question about estimated taxes? Need an IRS form? You need to contact the IRS, and here's how to do it:

red bulletTHE INTERNET

Probably the easiest way to get information from the IRS these days is via the Internet. The IRS web site is user friendly and easy to use. You can download any IRS form or publication for the current year or as far back as 1992, get answers to frequently asked questions, and much more.

red bulletTELEPHONE

To order forms, publications, or instructions, call 1-800-829-3676. If you need an answer to a tax question, call 1-800-829-1040. If you have a tax problem that you've been unable to resolve via other means, call the Taxpayer Advocate at 1-877-777-4778. You can also listen to pre-recorded messages about a variety of tax topics by calling 1-800-829-4477.

red bulletUS MAIL

If you have a question but prefer good old-fashioned mail over the telephone, you can send your written tax question to the IRS district director in your region. Allow 30 days for a response. You can get the address for your region from any IRS tax return package, or you can call 1-800-829-1040.

red bulletFAX

You can have IRS forms and instructions sent directly to your fax machine using the IRS TaxFax service. Using the handset on your fax machine, call 703-368-9694 and follow the voice prompts.
