Financial Planning New Year's Resolutions Blog by Mary

Ordering My Credit Reports

This week I went to www.annualcreditreport.com and ordered copies of my credit report from each of the three major credit reporting bureaus. I'll share that experience with you later this week. I decided not to pay to get my FICO score right now. I know my score has to be pretty low. But I want to make sure there's nothing on my credit reports that doesn't belong to me, like my ex-husband's accounts, or an error of some type.

Whether you have good credit or bad, it's important to know what your credit reports say about you. Errors are pretty common, and they could be affecting the interest rates you get on loans and credit accounts, your insurance premiums, and other things you might not expect. See What You Need To Know About Your FICO Credit Score for more information. ~ Mary
